We met with an officiant today and absolutely loved her! She's an interfaith minister but practices Buddhism, she's a professor and a scientist, and had the most beautiful apartment I've ever seen! And she had really creative ideas for the ceremony so we're definitely going to book her!
The honeymoon was booked yesterday. We'll be in St. Lucia for a week, at the beautiful and very secluded Ti Kaye resort. Check out all the sexiness here: www.tikaye.com
The second I stumbled upon their website I just had to hire these photographers for the wedding. I can't even put into words how amazing their work is. Steven and Tak are a real life couple, they're young, they're super super nice, and they're artists.
From the beginning I told Matt that photography was the one part of the wedding budget I wasn't going to skimp on. Wedding photographers aren't cheap. And if they are there's a good reason for it. Basically, you get what you pay for. See for yourself: www.getstak.com
Since I'm spending way too much money on other aspects of my wedding I wanted to cut costs with the flowers. I didn't even want to do floral centerpieces. I wanted to do candelabras but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for (see inspiration post). So I looked up cheap flowers and found carnations, tulips, and daisies. Tulips won't really be in season in June and I think they'll be a pain since they continue to grow after they're cut. Gerber daisies and carnations are available all year round but the carnations cost soooooo much less! I've always hated carnations but who knew they could look so pretty?
As everyone knows, we'll be getting married and having the reception at the Chateau Briand in NY. It's absolutely beautiful with this old Hollywood glamour style. Here's the website if you want to see what it looks like: www.chateaubriandcaterers.com
I got the invitations awhile ago (some of you have already seen them). You print them at home on your computer so I saved a ton of money buying them this way. But now I've read that they are a nightmare to do, I hope I don't have any problems when it comes time to print!
a perfectionist bride who wants to doing everything DIY + a bridal party who lives in another state + a damask obsession = an incredibly difficult task of planning a dream wedding
